P.E. Challenges
ACES (All Children Exercising Simultaneously)
Thank you to all of you that participated in this challenge! Below is a breakdown of the number of students that participated from each grade level. I LOVED the pictures and videos!! It made me so happy to see families exercising together. Thank you so much!
Pre-K: 4
Kindergarten: 9
1st Grade: 19
2nd Grade: 7
3rd Grade: 5
4th Grade: 8
1st grade is crowned the winner!! Mrs. Dicicco's class had the highest number of participants - 11 of the 19 students who participated were from her class! Thank you also to Mrs. Smith - I loved the video of you and your dog!
Challenge for the week of March 29th~ I challenge you to drink at least 1/2 your weight in ounces of water each day!
For Example: If you weight 60 pounds, drink at least 30 ounces of water each day
Challenge for the week of April 5th~ Replace at least one sugary drink a day with water or white milk
Challenge for the week of April 12th~ Try and get at least 8 hours of sleep. It is so important that we get enough sleep each night - it will help improve our concentration, productivity, athletic performance, immune system, mood, and overall heart health!
Challenge for the week of April 19th~ Ask an adult to purchase fruit or vegetable that you have never had. Also, try to make each meal according to the Choose My Plate recommendations. Half of your plate should be fruits and vegetables, but don't forget to include grains, dairy and a protein.
Challenge for the week of April 27th~ Take a picture of your perfect plate, consisting of a fruit, vegetable, grain, dairy and protein...and send it to me!
Challenge for the week of May 3rd ~ May is National Physical Fitness and Sports month....so let see if you can get your recommended 60 minutes of physical activity everyday of the week!
Challenge for the week of May 10th~ Brush your teeth in the morning when you wake up and before bed...and floss at least once a day!
Challenge for the week of May 24th~ Each time you wash your hands, sing Happy Birthday two times! Did you know that the thumb is often missed when washing your hands? Pay close attention to wash every part of your hands including your thumbs!
Challenge for the week of May 31st~ Spend at least 60 minutes a day being active...but try and make at least half of this outdoor time!
